Carin Corcoran Obituary, Death – It is with great sadness that the Wawaloam School community in Exeter mourns the passing of Carin Corcoran, a dedicated first-grade teacher. Superintendent James Erinakes conveyed the heartbreaking news in an email, emphasizing Carin’s unwavering commitment to her students and the broader school community.

Carin Corcoran’s impact extended far beyond the classroom, as she cared deeply about Wawaloam School, her colleagues, Exeter-West Greenwich (EWG) district, and the community at large. Superintendent Erinakes acknowledged Carin’s selfless dedication, stating that “her loss will be widely felt by all of us.”

Having been part of the school district since 1999, Carin had devoted over two decades to shaping the educational experiences of countless students. Her influence went beyond professional boundaries, as her sister is also a teacher in the district, and several family members are current students within the schools.

In recognition of this profound loss, a two-hour delay for students at Wawaloam and Metcalf schools on Tuesday has been implemented. Morning pre-kindergarten at Lineham School is canceled, allowing the school community the time and space to come to terms with the passing of a beloved teacher and colleague.

Carin Corcoran’s legacy is woven into the fabric of Wawaloam School, and her absence will be deeply felt by students, colleagues, and the wider community. As they navigate this period of grief, may the memories of Carin’s dedicated service and compassionate spirit bring solace to all those who mourn her passing.
