Jason John Bonham was born on 15 July 1966 in Dudley, West Midlands, England. He is the son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham and Patricia “Pat” Bonham (née Phillips). At the age of five, he could play drums very well and also appeared in the movie The Song Remains the Same along with his father.

When Bonham was fifteen years old, he joined the rock band Airrace. He was also the part of the British rock band Virginia Woolf, with whom he made two music albums.
